Tom Murphy is a multi-instrumentalist returning to Targhee Music Camp for his 14th straight year. He has taught at camps throughout North America and Europe including the Montana Fiddle Camp, Cabin Fever Workshop in British Columbia and Adiaha’s Bluegrass Camp in Germany.
Influenced initially by David Grisman and Sam Bush, Tom quickly realized the mandolin’s versatility in playing many styles of music. And while many know Tom as a mandolin player, his first passion was the acoustic guitar, absorbing the styles of Norman Blake, Tony Rice and Doc Watson.
Tom plays guitar, mandolin and octave mandolin with a variety of bands in the Northern Rockies.
