The 7th Annual Targhee Music Camp took place August 7-10, 2012 and was the first year the name was changed from "Grand Targhee Bluegrass Camp" and became the "Targhee Music Camp". This would be the name for all of the rest of the camps moving forward.

The year featured The Infamous Stringdusters (including sound engineer Drew Becker teaching a sound reinforcement class) back for another stint being joined by Songwriting master Darrell Scott. Other new instructors include Betse Ellis, Courtney Hartman, Sharon Gilchrist, Carol Elizabeth Jones and Roy Andrade.
